We love all your other topics, so keep arguing about them too, but if you’re a little stuck, why not try this out:

aMap announcement: Argument of the Month!

Hello aMappers,

It’s great to see new aMaps being made every day!

Some are serious, some are silly, all are interesting in their own way!

Here at aMap HQ, we believe that it’s good to argue. We want to get the world arguing more and better. The more you practice mapping out your thoughts, the better your arguments will be!

To keep you aMapping away, we’ve come up with a new competition: *Argument of the Month*!

*Argument of the Month* is an exciting way to let your arguing skills shine, with the added bonus of the chance of winning a fantastic prize!

All you have to do is keep creating aMaps and, if nominated, you could win a $100-worth of beautifully illustrated pocket aMaps to share with your friends or classmates.

If you’ve seen an aMap worthy of such a prize, you can nominate your friends’ maps on Twitter on Facebook.

So, let’s get going!

Every month we’ll pick a topic, and then on the last Friday of the month Quarrelsome Q and the rest of the aMap team will pick a winner. Keep your eyes peeled for this month’s lucky arguer!

So I’m starting to like this “argument review process”. We’re getting increasing numbers of people arguing more and more, so the competition’s hotting up.

My three favorites from this month are:

Miguel from Denver, with the hot US subject of “alcohol drinking age”

Mazzoni from Sydney, with the subject “who’s the US’s most influential President”

Tegan from Werribee, with the subject “Should there be ratings on movies?”

This month – September – has been a red-hot month for arguments, so I thought I’d do a bit of a round up of the arguments I liked the best so far.

So – here are my top 3 of the month so far:

How was the world created?

Large cities or small towns?

Is coal worse for the environment than natural gas?

So there you go – they’re my top 3 picks for the month. I look forward to arguments in October!

Election (debate) fever

So the formal TV debates are over, and election day is here. What we’d like to see is more people passionately arguing for and against the party of your choice – as the margin for difference within the parties is pretty slim, and seemingly all parties are leading on a character vote, pulling on those Pathos strings. Whether it’s Clegg’s “vote for the new guy”, Cameron’s “vote for change and sensibility” and Brown’s “vote for experience”.

Arguments pop up in Brixton

Exciting news! I just dropped off a selection of our Pocket Argument Guides to my friend Rosie’s new pop-up shop/restaurant “No.1 Village Bakeries” in Brixton (London). It’s the launch night tonight – so it’ll be exciting to see how our arguments go down over the next couple of weeks in the run up til x-mas.
