Finishing off the product

So, this week is a big push week to finish the content of our first 5 aMaps – and get them printed.

The main content of the maps has been 99% finished – though I’ll be sitting down with my friend (and copywriter) Michael J Flexer to make the final tweaks to the content.

The writing of the content has been a two-man process, with me first writing up the main body of content for each of the topics (often with the help of a researcher); I’d then give this to Michael to make the content more interesting (and fun); I’d then edit this down to make sure it would fit in the limited page-size of the maps, give it to our designer (Ollie) ready for lay up.

The process has taken much longer than expected – however we’re now getting there.¬† I had planned to finish for August – so we’re a good 2 months behind – though I’m not too worried, as the key to the success of the project is an excellent final product – which I’m happy to wait for . . . . which is lucky!
