As part of my work today, I’ve been spending a good deal of time planning aMap’s launch. As we’ve decided to self-publish, we’ve not only got to deliver a great product / idea – but also print it, find packaging for it, sort out ISBN numbers (necessary for printing), look into distribution, sort the marketing, work on point of sale devices, develop the online version of aMap, build a website, cover legal issues . . .
In essence we’re turning ourselves into publishers. Which is kinda what we do already – but dealing with other people’s content.
